The International Committee of the Red Cross trains its employees with ENI!

Testimonial

A few months ago, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) chose ENI to train its teams with ENI’s e-learning courses in office automation. The ICRC has over 20,000 staff working in 100 countries to help people affected by armed conflict or violence.

The ICRC had a wide range of needs, but broadly speaking, it had to assess the skills of its staff and then find training content that was available remotely and in several languages. ENI made it possible thanks to its e-learning’s know-how and contents, the digital test and MEDIAplus (our platform for training by doing and in total autonomy), were the key to fulfilling this mission!

Invited to take part in a workshop at the SRH trade fair in Paris, Alain Court, ICRC Representative, talks about this project! Watch his video below!

What is the ICRC doing at SRH?

I’m in Paris to present a project we have been running in collaboration with ENI.
The goal of the project was to train 7,500 of our employees in digital skills.

What is Digital Skills Forge?

The project, which we called Digital Skills Forge, was firstly to find out what level our employees had reached in terms of office software tools, and then to offer them training tailored to their needs.

Office software training at the ICRC?

In principle, we often imagine that office software is perfectly mastered by everyone, but this is rarely true and that’s why there was a real need to launch this project. The main tools used, and those that were most appreciated, were Teams, Excel and Word. There’s no surprise there, it’s quite common.

Why did you choose ENI elearning?

What I really appreciated about ENI elearning was the ability to test levels beforehand, to identify exactly what you need and then to have access to training courses that correspond to those needs. That’s a real strength.

How did the project work?

In practical terms, we organised the training with ENI in 3 waves of 2,500 people each, because we have fairly tight operational restrictions in terms of connectivity. Some people work in war zones, so we had to allow them to decide whether or not they wanted to take part in the training.

What are the results of this project?

The ENI platform is extremely effective. What was particularly appreciated by the employees were the placement tests, which give them an idea of their level. Also, and this is absolutely central, the fact of being able to act on a virtual environment, of being able to practice, to do and not just watch. The fact that the system observes and then gives a feedback, changes everything. This is truly experiential learning.
